Sensory Stars Pediatric Therapy is a private pediatric therapy practice working with children from birth and up. We look closely at the "whole-child" and follow a "child-directed" model in order to reach maximum potential in reaching individualized goals. We work closely with families to uncover underlying reasons for issues and difficulties your child may be having with daily activities.

RED FLAG questions to ask yourself:

  • Does your child have difficulties participating in daily tasks such as self-care, feeding, dressing...etc.? ( difficulty buttoning, difficulty zippering, difficulty using utensils, difficulty tolerating hair being brushed, difficulty potty training...etc.)

  • Is your child a picky eater? Or does your child always seem hungry?

  • Is getting dressed/picking out an outfit close to impossible because of tactile defensiveness/difficulty tolerating clothing? (ex. only wear one pair of socks, only wants to wear tight clothing, only likes to wear multiple layers of clothing, refuses a jacket...etc.)

  • Is your child clumsy, lose their balance and/or have difficulties with coordination in their daily environments?

  • Is your child struggling in school due to auditory sensitivities, fidgetiness/difficulty remaining in their seat/sitting at circle time, difficulty with handwriting(letter size too small or too big, difficulty with spacing, difficulty with proper letter formation, difficulty with line orientation...etc.), difficulty with school related activities (unpack/pack up routine, difficulty with organization of cubby/locker), trouble with organization(at school and home), difficulty with executive functioning, difficulty keeping up with peers in the classroom, difficulty with concentration...etc.?

  • Does your child have difficulty with social skills/interacting with peers/difficulty with boundaries?

  • Does your child have difficulty with basic play skills? (ex. does not know how to play with toys, has difficulty taking turns, difficulty following multi-step directions...etc.)

  • Does your child have difficulty falling to sleep or staying asleep?

  • Does your child have difficulty regulating their arousal level? (ex. always "on the go", "hyper", have difficulty starting to "move" their body often labeled "lazy", tantrums...etc.)

If you answered yes to any of the above or if your child has other difficulties not mentioned above, we are here to help! Depending on the age of your child, it may be okay if they have not mastered some of these important skills necessary for successful participation at home and in the community. It is best to give us a call or go to "Getting Started" to figure out your next step in the process to giving your child the opportunity to develop these necessary skills to build independence and success in all of their environments!
